MY GEAR

MACBOOK PRO 13” WITH TOUCHBAR (2018)

I use this for education, productivity and random browsing. I love using it so much that I use it instead of my school computer at school. Whenever I need to do something that requires more precision and complexity than can be done on an iPad or iPhone, I use this.

iPAD PRO 11” (2018) + APPLE PENCIL 2ND GENERATION

When I wanna browse social, news, YouTube or anything else, I use this. The large screen makes for a great viewing and reading experience. I also use it for whenever I wanna sketch something with the Apple Pencil. This iPad is just a fun device to use and it’s always the first thing I grab when I wanna do something.

With the release of iPadOS, this device has become even more useful and easy to use than it was before. The new home screen, multi tasking features and the Files app makes it a more powerful device for productivity than any other true tablet on the market.

iPHONE 8

This is the first iPhone I’ve used since iPhone 4s. I’ve been an Android user for years and I started to get tired of it. By April of 2018, when I bought my iPhone 8, I’d been planning to buy a MacBook Pro. So I when my Google Nexus 5X broke, this was the perfect opportunity to buy an iPhone. Apple devices work really well together with iMessage, AirDrop and more. Basically every service on an iPhone will seamlessly sync to any other Apple device and it’s extremely useful.

APPLE WATCH SPORT (1ST GENERATION) 42 MM

I purchased a first gen Apple Watch because I wanted it’s Activity app and other health related functionality. So far it’s been working pretty well for me, but it’s very slow. It can still do the activity tracking and all no problem, it’s just slow when it comes to opening apps and jumping between them. I will probably buy a newer Apple Watch down the road.

CUSTOM DESKTOP PC

A gaming PC I assembled in the beginning of 2016. I use it mostly for watching movies, YouTube and listening to music on speakers. Ever since I bought my MacBook, a lot of my work and use has transferred to that because it’s portable. However, this PC is still the center of my home desk and is connected to everything else and helps make everything a seamless process. But ever since the Switch arrived, this powerful gaming PC has turned into a glorified streaming box that I occasionally use for productivity and gaming.

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970

COCOON URBAN ADVENTURE - LAPTOP BACKPACK 16”

This is my backpack. I use it to carry all my stuff from home to school or wherever else I’m going. It features a laptop compartment that fits my MacBook Pro and a tablet compartment that fits my iPad Pro. It also has a lot of space for bigger items and plenty of pouches for smaller ones. Behind the flap on the front is a big Grid-It board that I use to organise cables for my MacBook and other gear. I love this bag. It has so many opportunities for keeping things clean and sorted. You’ll never have to look for something at the bottom of your backpack ever again! Definitely recommend it.

AIRPODS (1ST GENERATION)

The AirPods are my favourite headphones of all-time. I keep them in my pocket at all times. I keep one in my ear almost all the time. They have an insanely good sound for being so small, wireless and portable.

BEATS SOLO3 WIRELESS

I got these Beats for free with the purchase of my MacBook and while I don’t think I would’ve bought them, I’m very happy I have them. They are awesome for music with their powerful but not overbearing bass.

AUDIO TECHNICA M50X

These are very good studio headphones at a good price. They have a balanced sound that is great for video editing as well as music. The removable cable is also a plus.

LOGITECH MX MASTER 2S

This mouse is a recent addition to my setup. It’s a great mouse with a wide features-set and very customisable software. Highly recommended.

BLUE YETI (USB)

This is the microphone I use for recording podcasts, let’s plays etc. It has a great sound and works seamlessly with both my PC and Mac by just plugging it in when I need it.

RAZER BLACKWIDOW CHROMA

I really do not like this keyboard. I only still have it because great keyboards are really expensive and while this is large and bulky, it’s still a high quality keyboard with great software.

DELL ULTRASHARP U2913WM

This is the main monitor I’m using. It’s an ultra wide monitor at 29 inches. Apart from some minor technical issues with the ports on it, it’s been an amazing monitor for productivity, gaming and most notably, movies.

BENQ GW2750

This is my secondary monitor. I no longer have it connected to my PC but instead use it entirely as a screen for my consoles. It has a low response time and good colour accuracy, so it works really well for playing video games.

ELGATO GAME CAPTURE HD60

When I wanna record gameplay from my game consoles, I use this device. However, if you’re in the market for a cap card, buy the S model. HD60S has zero delay which is great for live streaming.
